Study Guide Aug. 3rd thru Aug. 8th

STUDY GUIDE

Monday, August 3: Repentance Is a Decision; Read Romans 2:4. No one is happier than the one who has sincerely repented of wrong. Repentance is the decision to turn from selfish desires and seek God. It is a genuine, sincere regret that creates sorrow and moves us to admit wrong and desire to do better.
Tuesday, August 4: Knowing God’s Will; Read John 6:40. We learn God’s will by spending time in his presence. The key to knowing God’s heart is having a relationship with Him. God speaks to each of us differently as we develop a personal relationship with Him. God reveals His heart personally to each person. We learn His will as we take up residence in His house each day.
Wednesday, August 5: God’s Signature; Read Jeremiah 1:5. With God in your world, you aren’t an accident or an incident; you are a gift to the world, a divine work of art, signed by God. What makes us special is not only our body but the signature of God on our lives. We are His work of art. We are created in His image to do good deeds.
Thursday, August 6: More Than Meets The Eye; Read Hebrews 11:1. Faith is trusting what the eye can’t see. Your eyes look in the mirror and see a sinner, a failure, a promise breaker. Faith enables you to look in the mirror and see a robed prodigal bearing the ring of grace on your finger and the kiss of your Father on your face.
Friday, August 7: All God’s Children; Read Romans 11:6. To whom does God offer His gift? The most beautiful or the most charming or the brightest? No, His gift is for all of us. We are all God’s children. He wants us so badly that He will take us in any condition. He is not about to wait for us to reach perfection because He knows we will never get there.
Saturday, August 8: God Is in Your Corner; Read Deuteronomy 31:8. We are often tempted to rebel against God’s rules and leave home like the prodigal son. We often feel like we have out grown God’s rules, that they are too restrictive for us. Our God is not a fair-weather Father, He is not into this love-em and leave-em stuff. We can count on Him to be in our corner no matter how we perform.
