Study Guide Aug. 10th - 15th

STUDY GUIDE

Monday, August 10: God Walks Among the Suffering; Read Matthew 8:17. Many times we walk past the needs of the suffering, pretending we don’t see or hear. We don’t want to become involved in their life situations for various reasons. We guard our emotions carefully. We need to remember that God does walk among the suffering. He walks carefully amongst the beggars and the blind and the lost. He takes our suffering upon Himself and carries us.
Tuesday, August 11: Why Deny? Read 1 John 1:8. We do ourselves no favors in justifying our deeds or glossing over our sins. We often come to Christ with our sin, but all we really want is a covering, a band aid. We want to skip the treatment and hide our sin. We wonder if God will heal what we conceal.
Wednesday, August 12: We Shall See Him; Read 1 Corinthians 13:12. What will happen when you see Jesus? You will see unblemished purity and unbending strength. You will feel His unending presence and know His unbridled protection. All that He is, you will be, because you will be pure as snow and will never sin or stumble again.
Thursday, August 13: Getting Our Attention; Read Joel 2:13. How far do you want God to go in getting your attention? God does what it takes to get our attention. That is the message of the Bible, the relentless pursuit of God. God is constantly stirring the bushes for lost sheep.
Friday, August 14: If Only! Read Galatians 4:7. Maybe your past isn’t much to brag about. Maybe you have seen raw evil, and now you have to make a choice. Do you rise above the past and make a difference, or do you remain controlled by the past and make excuses? You exclaim “If only!” If only I had been born some where else! If only I had been treated differently! Human life comes from human parents, but spiritual life comes from the Holy Spirit.
Saturday, August 15: Heed The Signals. Read Ecclesiastes 12:13. Here are some God-given, time tested truths that define the way that you navigate your life. Love God more than you fear hell. When no one is watching, live as if someone is. Succeed at home first. Pray twice as much as you fret. God has forgiven you; you would be wise to do the same.
