March 8th thru 13th Study Guide

STUDY GUIDE

Monday, March 8: Words That Help; Read Ephesians 4:29. We have all met people who seem to enjoy correcting others and telling them what is wrong with them. If you are like most of us, you probably don’t care much for people who act like this. You sense that their real goal is to impress you with their wisdom and show you how perfect they think they are. Learn to avoid hurtful and useless words, and ask God to help you encourage someone else for Christ’s sake.
Tuesday, March 9: Poor in Spirit. Part I. Read Matthew 5:3. If we are poor in spirit, we must learn to be aware of our spiritual poverty. The soul requires as much attention as the body. It demands fellowship and communion with God. It demands worship, quietness, and meditation. Unless the soul is fed and exercised daily, it becomes weak and shriveled.
Wednesday, March 10: Poor in Spirit Part 2: Read Galatians 3:26. Being poor in spirit also means being conscious of our constant dependence upon God. We must admit we are poor before we can become rich. The first link between our soul and Christ is not our riches but our need.
Thursday, March 11: Trusting His Word: Read Psalm 119: 160. When you were young, your parents probably warned you not to believe everything that you read. Their advice was sound. We can trust the Bible because it points us to the most important event in human history which is the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through the Written Word, we discover the Living Word.
Friday, March 12: Healing or Harm? Read Proverbs 12:18. How often have you had to apologize for something that you said just because you didn’t take the time to think it through first? The reckless word slipped out and the damage was done. The Bible says that we should seek to do good with our speech. Ask Him for the wisdom to know when to speak and when to keep silent.
Saturday, March 13: Testifying To The Truth; Read 1 Peter 3:15. What is your story about your relationship with Christ? Are you willing to share it with others? Be ready to share your story when the Lord gives you that opportunity. Be ready to follow the Lord when He invites you to come and follow Him!

March information for Angel Choir

The Angel's Choir will sing on Sunday, March 21st. This will be the last time for this school year, and we hope to have a good turnoutfor Janice and the choir. It would be so awesome to have all 25 kids up there singing. We will also be presenting the 3rd graders with their Bibles on that Sunday so please pass the word. If parents work there will be children's church, and we still would like the kids to come and sing. Also please mark the date for the Family Night... March 31st from 5-7. We will need adults to help with the various activities and keep supplies at the tables etc. We also will need hard-boiled eggs for dyeing Easter Eggs, donations of wrapped candy or little eggs with candies or prizes to hide for Easter Egg hunt, we could use the Casey's pizza coupons on the boxes or donations for pizza, garlic bread, chips, desserts. There will be a note in church Sunday to fill out if there is a way you can help or give me an email or call. Thanks so much. Barb

Remember failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.

Saturday, March 6: Persistence: The Ultimate Gauge of Leadership; Read Nehemiah 4:15. One of the greatest tests of leadership is how you handle opposition. The opposition to your leadership can come in the form of threats, ridicule, resistance, and rumor. Persistence is the ultimate gauge of your leadership; the secret is to outlast your critics.
