Study Guide Aug. 24th - 29th

STUDY GUIDE

Monday, August 24: Lifting Heart and Hands; Read 1Timothy 1:17. The whole purpose of coming before the Lord is to praise Him, to live in recognition of His splendor. Praise…lifting up our heart and hands, is the occupation of those who dwell in the kingdom. When we praise the Father, we reestablish the proper chain of command.
Tuesday, August 25: What Size is God? Read Matthew 19:26. Nature is God’s workshop. The sky is His resume. The universe is His calling card. When you want to know who God is, look around you and see what He has done. When you want to know His power, take a look at His creation.
Wednesday, August 26: The Answer to Arguments; Read Colossians 3:13. Unity doesn’t begin in examining others but in examining yourself. Unity begins not in demanding that others change, but in admitting that we aren’t so perfect ourselves. The first step to unity is acceptance, not agreement, not unanimity, not negotiation or elaboration.
Thursday, August 27: Christ’s Ultimate Aim; Read Mark 10:45. One of the incredible abilities of Jesus was to stay on target. His life never got off track, He kept His course. Jesus could have done many things with His life. The Son of Man came to find lost people and save them. The heart of Christ was relentlessly focused on one task.
Friday, August 28: Don’t Be Troubled; Read Jeremiah 17:7. Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Jesus said “Trust in God and Trust in me.” There are many rooms in my Father’s house, I am going there to prepare a place for you, and I will come back and take you to be with me so that you may know where I am going.” This can be summed up by saying” You do the trusting and I will do the taking.”
Saturday, August 29: No Fears at All; Read Isaiah 41:13. Could you use some courage? Are you backing down more than you are standing up? Earthly fears are no fears at all. Answer the big question of eternity, and the little questions of life fall into perspective.
