Study Guide Oct. 12th - 17th

STUDY GUIDE

Monday, October 12: God, Our Defender; Read Psalm 62:6. What is God doing when you are in a bind? When the lifeboat springs a leak or the last penny is gone before the end of the month and the last bill is paid? We turn to God and He fights for us and takes over. He tells us “to remain calm; I will fight for you!” His job is to fight, our job is to trust.
Tuesday, October 13: Don’t Panic; Read Hebrews 10:23. Is your disappointment too heavy? Read the story of the Emmaus-bound disciples. The Savior they thought was dead now walked beside them. The next time you are disappointed, don’t panic and don’t give up. Just be patient and let God remind you that He is still around.
Wednesday, October 14: The Wages Of Deceit; Read Psalm 101:7. The wages of deceit is still death, not death of the body. The wages of deceit can be the death of a marriage, a conscience or a career. It could also be the death of intimacy, trust, peace, credibility, and self-respect. The most tragic death is that of our Christian witness.
Thursday, October 15: God Loves The Truth; Read Proverbs 12:22. Our Master has a strict honor code. God loves the truth and hates deceit. Why the hard line? It is because dishonesty is absolutely contrary to the character of God.
Friday, October 16: Blessed Are The Focused; Read 1 Peter 4:10. Blessed are those who recognize their God given responsibilities. Blessed are those who acknowledge that there is only one God and have quit applying for His position. Blessed are those who know what they are on earth to do and set themselves about the business of doing it.
Saturday, October 17: Fear And Faith; Read Acts 16:25. Great acts of faith are seldom born out of calm calculation. Faith is often born out of fear, desperation and a need for help.
